The minister asks the giant to maintain its fuel cap at €1.99 beyond December 31. On the occasion of the IAA exhibition in Munich, Luca de Meo discusses the Ampere IPO. The division which will bring together all activities relating to electric vehicles at Renault. The IPO will take place by spring 2024. De Meo intends to raise 8 to 10 billion euros. UBS imagines a valuation rather close to 4 billion, Barclays is betting on 5. AB Bersnstein even puts forward 30 billion. Ampere targets 1 million BEVs per year from 2031, with an operating margin of 10%. The Italian leader calls on investors to support this IPO, to resist the Chinese invasion.
The extraction of nickel, essential for the manufacture of batteries, is not profitable in New Caledonia. This sector, of strategic importance for France, is the subject of discussions in the government. The President promises that the State will finance the overhaul of the sector, via more competitive and carbon-free energy. In fact, the 3 operators consume a lot of electricity, coming from coal-fired power plants. Converting them to gas and developing photovoltaics will cost 4.15 billion euros. The sector will then be more competitive, facing Indonesian competitors among others…
The European automobile industry has found a new strong support against the Euro 7 standard, Ferrari. As a reminder, the latter provides for a further reduction of NOx and other particles by the addition of a heated electric catalyst. This additional cost weakens manufacturers, which will push them to abandon small thermal cars. According to Renault, this will complicate access to automobiles for part of the population. Its entry into force by 2025 diverts part of the resources, while the brands prepare the end of thermal energy in 2035. Benedetto Vilgna, director of Ferrari, prefers to concentrate on electric; and denounce the attention paid to Euro 7 to the detriment of the 2035 objective.
