Light, agile, fast, the Jeep 4SPEED is the latest in a line of lightweight concepts built for the Easter Jeep Safari. Built for speed (4SPEED), it continues the trend started in 2011 by the popular Pork Chop, followed by the Stitch concept in 2013, supporting the Wrangler's off-road capability and performance through extensive weight savings. Another of its strengths is the lively turbocharged 2-cylinder four-cylinder engine, a novelty in the Wrangler range, and which is coupled to an 8-speed gearbox.
The exterior of the Jeep 4SPEED is a true weight-saving exercise thanks to the use of carbon fiber in the hood, on the raised fenders and in the rear wheel arches with perforated aluminum panels. It also boasts a streamlined side profile thanks to a steeper windshield, elongated doors, and a noticeably tilted safety cage. The body of the rear is also light weight and the result of personalized work. Thanks to the weight savings, the ground clearance is 2 inches greater than in the production Wrangler without the need for a lifting kit.
In addition to being a "light weight," the vehicle's overall length has been trimmed 22 inches, while the wheelbase is equal to that of the production Wrangler. This results in an increase in attack and exit angles.
For more off-road efficiency, the Jeep 4SPEED features Dana 44 front and rear axles with a 4.10 ratio and lightweight 18-inch monoblock wheels that fit 35-inch BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires.
The interior features a completely custom instrument panel and reupholstered front seats, while the rear ones have been removed. A welded curtain functions as a bikini top. The floor is covered and the footrests have been replaced with perforated aluminum panels.
