According to the latest statement from the Ministry of Energy Transition, dated August 25, diesel prices were on average 1.8240 euros per liter, those of the super SP95-E10 at 1.9171 euros.
On July 28, the average selling price of a liter of diesel was 1.8240 euros, against 1.8346 euros a fortnight earlier. A value well below the prices encountered at the start of the year (1.9432 euros, end of January 2023), but all the same far from the prices practiced in mid-May 2023 (1.6555 euros), or even at the end of December 2022 (1 ,6160 euro), date on which the discount introduced by the government ended.
Although the average selling price per liter of Super SP95-E10 is certainly tending to stabilize now, it nevertheless remains at very high levels. It thus went from 1.9137 euro on August 18, 2023, to 1.9171 euro on August 25, 2023.
The price of the super SP98 was heading towards the symbolic threshold of two euros at 1.9844 euros. Details that this threshold has been crossed in many service stations, if we examine the comparator of the government site prix-carburants.gouv.fr.
A value distorted by the price cap of TotalEnergies stations
Nevertheless, the overall calculation includes the pump prices of TotalEnergies stations, whose prices are capped at 1.99 euros until the end of the year. A situation that weighs the national average.
It would be interesting to carry out the calculation with and without taking into account the stations of the French energy giant.
