On the occasion of the Italian Grand Prix, the C43 single-seater (yes, despite the Alfa branding, the nomenclature of the single-seaters has remained that of Sauber) is adorned with a superb livery in the colors of Italy. The C43 was already considered as one of the most successful and elegant of the 2023 season, but there it will capsize the hearts of tifosis.
A beautiful mix of colors
The front face, from the tip of the muzzle to the cockpit, is red, with white and green on the sides, then turns completely green at the level of the part surrounding the pilot, while the engine cover bears the Italian flag , all contrasting with the raw carbon black of the fins and a central part of the single-seater. Seen from above, we see that the bonnet is asymmetrical, the Italian flag being in the opposite direction on one side and the other, so that the order of the colors is well respected whatever the profile by which we observes him. This design is reminiscent of the F1 Alfa Romeo 184 T and 185T of the years 1984-1985, when they were sponsored by Benetton and also played with green and red.
A livery that accompanies the Nuova 33 Stradale
This livery is also noticeable in the pattern of the rims which has changed to yellow / gold, thus paying homage to the famous Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale and to the “vintage” design of the perforated Alfa Romeo rims, before the horseshoe design took over. raises. It is therefore also the means of indirectly evoking the Nuova 33 Stradale, a modern reinterpretation of the sports car of the sixties, which the Biscione has just unveiled upstream of the Italian Grand Prix. The livery was unveiled by Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake drivers, Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, at a special event at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, near Milan, to mark the launch of the new 33 Stradale. Another small detail that kills, the golden “33 Stradale” which appears on the reverse of the rear wing, again against the backdrop of the Italian flag.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, team representative: “As we approach our home race in Monza, it is a pleasure to unveil this incredible livery, a true tribute not only to the 33 Stradale, but to Alfa Romeo as a whole and the country from which it hails, the ‘Italy. This livery is probably one of the best we’ve ever had on a car, and being able to showcase it in front of our local audience – including hundreds of our Hinwil team members in the stands – is an honor for all. .”
